Immersing myself in the programs of BeYOUtiful Possibilities, I came to know that I am a precious child of God, worthy of love, dignity, and respect. God led me to discover the love story that would become my life.

My past story no longer defines me. I am no longer reduced to what was done to me, or what I have done in my life. I am no longer a human doing.

I am a human being, a soul who loves, the breath of God. I now live with purpose and promise.

Living life in the spirit, I am guided to share my story and to lead others to God’s healing love.

My light shines for those in darkness, my steps lead the broken into their own light, my voice shatters the silence that binds them – creating a space for their truth.

My Story

#ME TOO; – AGE 6 until – memory unknown

Silence was the sound my mouth made.

Tears through vacant eyes expressed my truth.

Screaming rage filled my mind.

Fear of more violence turned my anger inward.

In constant motion, wildly reaching in every direction, with the constant noise of numbness, I outran the wall of trauma that defined me.

50 years later, while watching my mother die, I thought… did you know? Did you know that your son raped me for the first time at 6 years old, and did not stop until a year unknown?

I forgave her at that moment. She lay dying before me and six-year-old me whispered my truth, telling her that I did not blame her and that I loved her.

This first utterance of my secret in the final days of my mother’s precious life began a torrent of memories that flooded my being. Unable to contain the truth that I had worked so hard to deny, despair covered me in darkness.

Wanting only for the pain to stop and the memories to end, I had but one thought,

“Stop Living.” “End My Life.” My actions followed my thoughts;

This moment was certainly an ending, but not the one I believed it to be.

It was the beginning of the end of my pain.

It was the beginning of the end of my torment.

It was the end of my silence.

It was the beginning of the great love story that would become my life.
